With less than six weeks to go before he faces the voters for reelection, Gov. Deval Patrick returns to meet with the South Shore Chamber of Commerce. Candidate Baker offers proposals to grow the Mass. economy

Charlie Baker, the Republican candidate for governor, told the South Shore Chamber his first action as governor would be to place a freeze on all new regulations and to weed out the "frequently inane" regulations he says are choking business.

Chamber promotes business and community development

In his report to the membership at the Chamber's Annual Meeting, Chairman Robert Fraser pointed to recent initiatives that are promoting economic growth in Weymouth Landing, Hingham, and Marshfield.

He also noted several new programs designed to help members grow their businesses on the South Shore.
